The sport of Powerlifting is based on three activities; the squat, the bench press and the deadlift. Weightlifting group members will train on these and other activities to develop full-body strength. The main concern for these lifters is to learn and perform proper technique and how to follow an exercise program.
All participants will work with coaches and follow dedicated weightlifting programs specific to them as individual athletes. Proper form and technique is the cornerstone of developing strength and reducing the risk for injury, coaching staff will always be present during training sessions to monitor and correct lifters. Lifters are not required to attend all days, but encouraged to make as many as possible.
Lifters from the group may choose to participate in the Minnesota State High School Championship competition in January 2020. Participants must have an active USA Powerlifting in order to participate at the State Meet*.
