The Worthington Area YMCA offers private lessons in a 1-on-1 environment. These lessons are designed to give participants individualized attention in order to improve their swimming skills. Each session includes five, 30 minute lessons. Private 1:1 Ratio, or Semi Private 1:2 or 1:3 Ratios also available for families. To contact CJ Nelson about setting up Private Lessons, Click Here.
We understand there will be some confusion on the cross-over, however; our YMCA Aquatics Staff, Front Desk and Management Team are able and willing to answer all of your questions on the new lessons and how your child can be placed into the correct corresponding Stage. For a quick comparison, please see the chart below.
We want to give our community the best practices of instruction for swimming lessons. As such, we have altered our previous swiming lesson scheduling model. There will now be a five minute break between lesson times to allow transition time for participants and instructors. Please pay attention to the starting time for your lesson. We ask that all spectators return to the Observation Deck after their child has been paired with their instructor. PLEASE, DO NOT SIGN YOUR CHILD UP FOR CONSECUTIVE LESSONS AT THE SAME REGISTRATION TIME. Children must successfully complete the stage before progressing, if you have a question on where your child stands, please speak with the instructor.
